Free Startup Monitor

Every time you install a program more often than not it registers itself to start when windows starts up.StartupMonitor is a small utility that runs transparently (it doesn't even use a tray icon) and notifies you when any program registers itself to run at system startup. It prevents annoying programs from registering themselves behind your back. Indoing so it prevents memory being taken up.

If you choose not to allow a program to register on startup, you can disable it in the Startup Control Panel, so you can go and enable it later if you decide to do so.

StartupMonitor watches the Start Menu's Startup folders and the Run entries in the registry. Startup Control Panel is a nifty control panel applet that allows you to easily configure which programs run when your computer starts.

StartupMonitor works on any version of Windows from the last ten years.
